Women doing well in Law

“Having been in the legal professional for over 30 years there has been a massive change of attitude between the profession dominated by the old boy’s network to seeing many women go through the glass ceiling.

I believe that women are doing wery well indeed and that it is only within certain limited professions that they cannot move forward particularly in the civil service and music industry. Women in the legal profession, financial sector and many pro-active media businesses are doing well.

The pay off appears to be in their relationships and squaring the circle of attitudes of men towards the relationships in which women are doing better them is something that we need to adress urgently. It seems in some quarters that old fashion attitudes are rife and suspincions of women who wish to make progress.

I think it is now time that societies attitude moved with the changes and that we try to learn to live together in harmony at home in the workplace. We will not achieve it in the workplace by sterilising our workmates with legislation. The way in which women will move forward and continue to go through the glass ceiling is if they earn it by way of achievements and more particularly respect rather than fear of legislation”.
