Cara obtained her Law Degree and completed her Legal Practice Course at De Montfort University. Since qualifying Cara has specialised exclusively in all areas of Family Law.
Cara together with the team, has advised wives, husbands, cohabiting couples, unmarried parents, grandparents, victims of abuse and those wrongly accused of perpetrating abuse so she is in an excellent position to understand the complexities and sensitivities that each particular client is faced with.
Cara is also a member of Resolution, the national organisation for Family Lawyers, and therefore undertakes all cases in a constructive and non-confrontational manner. She endeavours to provide clear and concise legal advice on Family Law matters with tact and empathy.
Cara aims to minimize conflict in all matters by entering into robust negotiations but also will not shy away from taking strong and effective legal action when necessary. She always strives to obtain the best possible outcome for her clients.
In addition, Cara is an All Issues Resolution trained Family Mediator, who aims to provide an environment that empowers the parties to take control of their own situation and reach a workable solution. Due to her experience as a Family Solicitor, she is fully aware of the documentation and considerations that are important when assessing the financial arrangements or arrangements for the children. This knowledge is then used to assist the parties when they are making proposals during the mediation process and when the Open Financial Statement is being drafted with the aim that it can be easily transferred into a Consent Order or Separation Agreement if necessary. The practice is now able to offer specialist children’s based mediation through Cara.
Cara is committed to the Mediation process as she feels that it can be an extremely cost effective and timely way to produce a positive result that is reached with the input of the parties involved.
Outside of work Cara enjoys travelling, music, yoga and swimming.
