Lloyd Platt & Company are delighted to announce the launch of a family mediation service effective from 1st February 2025.
From 1 February 2025, Lloyd Platt & Co is proud to introduce a dedicated family mediation service as part of our comprehensive family law offering.
For separating couples and individuals considering an application to the Family Court, engaging in mediation or another form of alternative dispute resolution is now a required step in most cases. This procedural change reflects a wider shift within family law toward resolving matters constructively and outside of court where possible.
Our new in-house mediation service ensures that you have access to experienced legal professionals who understand both the legal framework and the human realities of separation.
Why Mediation Matters More Than Ever
Court proceedings can be time-consuming, costly and emotionally draining. Mediation offers a structured and confidential environment in which you can:
- Discuss financial arrangements
- Address child arrangements
- Explore property division
By focusing on cooperation rather than confrontation, mediation empowers you to retain greater control over decisions that shape your future.
For many families, it provides a faster and more proportionate solution than litigation.
Experienced Solicitors, Qualified Mediators
Our mediation service is led by Anya Gold, a dedicated matrimonial solicitor with 14 years’ experience. As both a practising divorce solicitor and qualified mediator, Anya brings a balanced and practical perspective to each matter.
She is joined by Rachel Roberts, a resident solicitor at Lloyd Platt & Co since 2019, with over 20 years’ experience in family law. Rachel is also a qualified collaborative lawyer, further strengthening the firm’s alternative dispute resolution expertise.
Together, they offer sole and joint mediation, providing flexibility tailored to your circumstances.
Supporting You at Every Stage of a Relationship
While mediation is often associated with separation, it can also assist couples at the beginning of a relationship. For those considering pre-nuptial or cohabitation agreements, mediation provides an impartial and structured forum to discuss potentially lifelong decisions with clarity and transparency.
This service complements our established family law practice, which has supported clients for over 33 years. It reflects our continued commitment to delivering practical, cost-effective solutions aligned with modern court expectations.
Strengthening Our Commitment to Constructive Resolution
The launch of our in-house mediation service marks a significant development in the breadth of support available to our clients. Mediation is provided as a distinct and impartial process, and in accordance with professional obligations, we will not be able to act for either party in any legal proceedings following mediation. This ensures the integrity and independence of the mediation process at all times.
If you are considering separation, contemplating a court application, or would like to explore whether mediation is appropriate for your situation, we encourage you to seek advice at an early stage.
To discuss mediation or arrange an initial consultation, please call 0208 343 2998 or visit our Mediation Solicitors page to learn more.
Early advice can make a meaningful difference to the outcome and the experience of your case.
